Vasilis is a new and also temporary local of Ithaca. His home is in Patras, but his work, as High School teacher, is in Vathy. Not a great distance to travel, but not a trip you would want to do every day, thus his temporary local status. Vasilis plans to live on the island for a minimum of 2 years, which would see him return to his native Patra in 2008, but who knows, he may follow in the footsteps of others who have made Ithaki their home long term after spending a year here. He's interesting and interested, fresh-faced and open to experience. Vasilis is a welcome addition to the Ithaki community.
