Yiannis
spent his life working the land on Ithaca. He was born and raised on the
island, living here all his life, nurturing and caring for the land of his
ancestors. His father too was born in Vthy, but his mother has her origns
in Kioni. In his hay day, Kioni may as well have been across the other side
of the world. They were the days when one took a boat to go to the North
island, the days before the road. He's now retired, but still does bits
and pieces here and there when he's not meeting his friends at the Odyssey
Cafe in the Vathy Square. |
